How You Should View Your Church - Philippians 1:3-11
• Series: Individual Sermons
Do you ever find yourself becoming frustrated or discouraged with the church? Perhaps you wish things could be like they were at some point in the past. Or maybe you find yourself focusing on the problems and issues around you. Or maybe someone has done something or said something recently that really rubbed you the wrong way. When Paul writes to the young church at Philippi, he has a surprising perspective on every part of life, including the church. The church at Philippi was not without its problems, but when Paul views the church, he’s not frustrated or discouraged. He is filled with joy! How can Paul be filled with joy? Because he is viewing the church through the eyes of Jesus Christ. You and I can also view our church through the eyes of Jesus by giving thanks for His work in the past and praying with hope for Him to work in the future.
